Video Conversion
With small plastic moving parts, videotapes are the most fragile home movie format that exits. Too much heat, dust, cold or humidity can render them useless. Let me digitize your videotapes to the latest digital formats for you to share with friends and family for generations to come. I can convert VHS, VHS-C, BETA, Digital 8 and Video 8, Mini DV, 8mm and 16mm movies to DVD, or to digital formats, including MPEG-2 (MPG), MPEG-4 (MP4), MOV, H.264/HEVC, MPEG, and WMV. Digitized videos can be saved to USB drives, DVDs, or Blu-Rays.
A note about recording speeds:
Many tape formats have different recording speeds that decrease the quality of the recording and increase the recording time. For example the VHS format has an EP setting that triples the recording time. If used, this makes a 2 hour VHS tape last for 6 hours and a 30 minute VHS-C tape last for 90 minutes.
Photo Conversion
I can digitive original photographic prints may range in size from 2 in. x 2.5 in. to 8.5 in. x 12 in. and must be free of any backing or mounting materials (original photographic paper only). I can also digitize Slides (35mm, 110, and 126 in 2"x2" mounts), 35mm Negatives (in rolls or strips). Scanned images can be saved to USB drives, CDs, or DVDs, or Blu-Rays. Vinyl Record and Cassette Conversion
Once upon a time the vinly record and cassette tape were the dominant music format. For independent musicians of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, cassette tapes offered the first affordable medium for both recording and distributing music, although some independent musicians released vinyl records. Additionally, due to the unique sounds that a record in good shape can produce, a lot of people have held onto their vinyl collections and still play them. Many older, rare LPs were never released on CD, so the only way to still listen to them is to play them on a turntable.
Now you can have your your favorite records and cassettes converted to CD or MP3. LPs and cassettes have to be transferred in real time, and once converted, you can figure about a half an hour to an hour for editing/post production. This includes such things as clean up damaged audio; removing hiss, clicks and pops; normalizing the volume; split the converted audio into tracks; add metadata including album and track information.
NOTE: when converting commercial LPs and cassettes, you will be required to certify in writing that they belong to you, and that they will not be sold or given away to to anyone else unless you are also selling/giving the LPs or cassettes at the same time.
